The Sequenom MassARRAY® System offers MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry for high accuracy and sensitivity, robust chemistry for reproducible results, and advanced data analysis software to meet the needs of any genomic laboratory. This system utilizes a homogenous MassExtend (hME – single base extension) reaction termed iPLEX GOLD, for analysis of SNPs in multiplex format. Following the MassExtend reaction, oligonucleotides are printed onto specialized Spectro CHIPs and analyzed by the Sequenom mass spectrometer. The mass spectrometer provides a high level of sensitivity, capable of detecting allele frequencies as low as 3% on average.
